Are you ready to take a chance and get into service work? Are you ready to take your recovery program to another level? If you’re not sure, please read "One Member’s Story." This wonderful sharing of experience, strength, and hope may be just what you need to take this next step. Please consider helping your fellowship with this important Step 12 and Tradition 5 work.

Voice Mail Volunteers

The COSA National Phone Line is in need of volunteers. Responsibilities include checking the voice mailbox for messages from newcomers, returning their calls, and giving them information about meetings available to them in their area in addition to other information. Money is available to reimburse for these long distance phone calls. On average, volunteers may have 0-4 messages to return per day. Guidelines, information, and literature are provided for these volunteers by the ISO – but the sharing of your Experience, Strength, and Hope is what’s need most. Connections Coordinators work with the E-mail Coordinator and the National Coordinator to connect individuals who register with the ISO via e-mail or regular mail , with meetings in their areas. If no meetings are available, they are connected with other individuals from the area who are also looking for support from COSA to help start new groups. Other responsibilities include matching new groups with established groups for group sponsorship, and matching loners with temporary sponsors until a group is available in that area. On average, the time commitment to this service work is approx. 1-2 hours/week.

COSA en Español (COSA in Spanish)

A COSA volunteer is asking for your help in translating some COSA materials into Spanish. Do you know any COSA members who are fluent in Spanish? Please ask your group if anyone would like to help translate. Or better yet, has your group translated anything.

Requirements:
We've had a few requests for Spanish materials in the past, and could potentially carry the message to many more people if they could see what our fellowship is all about. This project will focus on the Steps, Traditions, and COSA's brochure. A very rough draft will soon be available; we need volunteers to review this translation and provide feedback so we can get it right.

The finished items will be posted on the website so Spanish-speaking people can use them. The International Service Organization isn't prepared to print and sell such materials yet, but providing something in Spanish on the Internet would be a starting place. Please have interested volunteers contact the ISO.
